MINT - The process and procedure of making or manufacturing money, both coin and currency.
The place designated by law, where money is coined by authority of the government of the United States.
The 1st U.S. mint was established by the Act of April 2, 1792, and located at Philadelphia, where, by virtue of sundry acts of congress, it still remains.
Other U.S. mints, some still in operation, were established at Denver, Carson City, San Francisco, and other places.
