夫妻一方签字的借条是夫妻共同债务，只要该所负债务用于婚后家庭生活，或者是债务有经过另一方事后追认。对于夫妻共同债务，二人均有责任进行清偿。夫妻共同财产不足清偿或者财产归各自所有的，由双方协议清偿；协议不成的，由人民法院判决。
