释义	租户死了的案情中，如果是因为房东没有及时履行合同约定的维修义务，导致发生安全事故，致使租户死亡，那么此时房东应当承担一定的责任。反之，则房东不需要承担责任。法律依据：《中华人民共和国民法典》第七百一十二条出租人应当履行租赁物的维修义务，但是当事人另有约定的除外。第七百三十一条租赁物危及承租人的安全或者健康的，即使承租人订立合同时明知该租赁物质量不合格，承租人仍然可以随时解除合同。
