刑期从判决之日起计算是错误的。准确的来讲，《刑法》规定的管制、拘役、有期徒刑的执行是从判决执行之日起计算；死刑缓期执行的期间，从判决确定之日起计算。

《中华人民共和国刑法》
第四十一条 管制的刑期，从判决执行之日起计算；判决执行以前先行羁押的，羁押一日折抵刑期二日。
第四十四条 拘役的刑期，从判决执行之日起计算；判决执行以前先行羁押的，羁押一日折抵刑期一日。
第四十七条 有期徒刑的刑期，从判决执行之日起计算；判决执行以前先行羁押的，羁押一日折抵刑期一日。
