释义	法律分析：调解一般需要双方都到场，但是并不一定要双方在场。职工与用人单位发生劳动争议，申请劳动争议仲裁的，仲裁庭应当先行调解，调解必须双方到场。但用人单位或者劳动者经仲裁庭通知无正当理由不到庭参加仲裁的，是申请人的，视为撤回申请;是被申请人的，仲裁庭可以缺席裁决。法律依据：《中华人民共和国劳动争议调解仲裁法》第十三条调解劳动争议，应当充分听取双方当事人对事实和理由的陈述，耐心疏导，帮助其达成协议。
