释义	依据我国刑法的规定,追究刑事责任是有时间限制的,所以盗窃案件报警时,要在追诉期限内报警。如果丢失金额不大,且不属于入户盗窃的情形,属于违反治安管理处罚法的情形,应当在6个月以内报案。如果金额较大,或者属于入户盗窃,根据盗窃的具体情节确定追诉期,最高是二十年。违反治安管理行为在六个月内没有被公安机关发现的,不再处罚。前款规定的期限,从违反治安管理行为发生之日起计算;违反治安管理行为有连续或者继续状态的,从行为终了之日起计算。
