一、父亲年老，要把户主更改到儿子名下，需要怎么做，怎么写申请
户口本更换户主，要到户口所在地公安派出所解决。户口本更换户主，需要的手续，要根据下面分别情况而定：
（一）集体户申请变换户主的，由单位或社区带相关手续，向户口所在地公安派出所提议。
（二）原户主丧命、被宣告丧命或者被宣告失踪的所需手续：
1、直系亲属提议书面申请报告；
2、丧命证明；
3、法院丧命或失踪裁判。
（三）原户主户口迁出的所需手续：
1、户内人员提议书面申请报告；
2、原户主迁出凭证。
（四）房屋所有权或者使用权发生转移，现房屋所有权人或者使用人认为需要变换的所需手续：
1、现房屋所有权人或使用人提议书面申请报告；
2、《房屋证》或有效凭证。
（五）其他原由应当变换户主的所需手续：
1、原户主提议书面申请报告；
2、其它相关手续。
二、户主变更审批条件：
有下列情形之一的，可以申请变更户主（未成年人一般不能担任户主）：
1、原户主死亡、被宣告死亡或者被宣告失踪的；
2、原户主户口迁出的；
3、房屋所有权或者使用权发生转移，现房屋所有权人或者使用人认为需要变更的；
4、其他特殊原因应当变更户主的。
三、户主变更申报材料：
1、原户主注销户口或者迁出户口的证明，或者产权所有人书面申请（2人以上拥有产权的，应当经全部的房屋所有权人或者使用权人协商一致）；2、原户主、新户主的居民身份证、居民户口簿；3、其他相关证明。
