释义	所谓借款合同担保，是指贷款人向借款人发放借款时，借款人需要提供一定的物或人作为该项借款的担保，在借款人不能履行合同义务时，为其担保的保证人必须代为清偿债务，或贷款方将贷款人或第三人提供的担保物变价优先受偿的一种贷款方式。法律依据：《中华人民共和国民法典》第三百八十六条 担保物权人在债务人不履行到期债务或者发生当事人约定的实现担保物权的情形，依法享有就担保财产优先受偿的权利，但是法律另有规定的除外。
