儿子打老人会怎么处理

儿子打老人，侵犯老年人的合法权益或虐待老年人的，《老年人权益保障法》规定，老年人可以向子女所在组织或当地居民委员会要求调解，也可以直接向人民法院提起诉讼。对给老年人人身权益、财产权益造成损失的，子女必须承担民事责任，给予赔偿。对于虐待老年人情节严重的，《民法典》第一千二十五条规定，虐待被继承人情节严重丧失继承权。其次，对于虐待遗弃父母的子女，还要依法追究刑事责任。虐待父母，情节恶劣的，依照《刑法》第260条处2年以下有期徒刑、拘役或者管制;致使被害人重伤的，处2年以上7年以下有期徒刑。
