释义	需要坐牢。保外就医的罪犯应由罪犯所在地的公安机关监督考察。保外就医期间应计算在刑期之内。如果罪犯病已痊愈刑期未满，应收监继续执行剩余刑期;如果刑期已满，则按期释放。按照有关规定，我国对身患重病的罪犯实行定期保外就医制度，即根据罪犯病情，决定保外就医的时间为半年或一年。期满前，监狱派干警考察或发函调查，如果病情基本痊愈，应及时收监执行;如果病情尚未好转，需继续治疗的，要依法办理延长保外就医手续，每次可以延长半年至一年。
