释义	根据我国法律规定，需要在租赁期届满前3个月向主管部门提出申请。法律依据：《公共租赁住房管理办法》第三十条租赁期届满需要续租的,承租人应当在租赁期满3个月前向市、县级人民政府住房保障主管部门提出申请。市、县级人民政府住房保障主管部门应当会同有关部门对申请人是否符合条件进行审核。经审核符合条件的,准予续租,并签订续租合同。未按规定提出续租申请的承租人,租赁期满应当腾退公共租赁住房；拒不腾退的,公共租赁住房的所有权人或者其委托的运营单位可以向人民法院提起诉讼,要求承租人腾退公共租赁住房。
