释义	固定期限劳动合同，是指用人单位与劳动者约定合同终止时间的劳动合同。具体是指劳动合同双方当事人在劳动合同中明确规定了合同效力的起始和终止的时间。劳动合同期限届满，劳动关系即告终止。如果双方协商一致，还可以续订劳动合同，延长期限。固定期限的劳动合同可以是较短时间的，如半年、一年、二年，也可以是较长时间的，如五年、十年，甚至更长时间。不管时间长短，劳动合同的起始和终止日期都是固定的。具体期限由当事人双方根据工作需要和实际情况确定。法律依据《劳动法》第12条
