释义	法律分析: 赡养公婆不是儿媳的义务，因为儿媳并不是法定的赡养人，虽然法律规定赡养人的配偶应当协助赡养人履行赡养义务，但协助的义务不是赡养义务，而且要注意的是这个规定只适用于夫妇关系存续期间。如果赡养人死亡，那么儿媳协助赡养的义务就自动解除了。法律依据: 《中华人民共和国民法典》第一千零六十七条父母不履行抚养义务的，未成年子女或者不能独立生活的成年子女，有要求父母给付抚养费的权利。成年子女不履行赡养义务的，缺乏劳动能力或者生活困难的父母，有要求成年子女给付赡养费的权利。
