释义	律师分析：申请公民身份者必须放弃原有的国籍。原则上讲宣誓加入美国国籍就意味着放弃了原所在国的国籍，然而尽管目前很多情况下美国政府对双重甚至多重国籍的现象有些睁一只眼闭一只眼。考虑到我国目前不承认双重国籍，所以放弃原国籍这也算是加入美国国籍的一个条件。【法律依据】：《中华人民共和国国籍法》第五条父母双方或一方为中国公民，本人出生在外国，具有中国国籍；但父母双方或一方为中国公民并定居在外国，本人出生时即具有外国国籍的，不具有中国国籍。
