员工旷工离职也是需要发工资的。劳动者离职后，劳动者可以要求劳动单位支付在用人单位工作期间的工资，如果用人单位不支付工资的，可以向劳动仲裁委员会申请仲裁。但是因为劳动者离职给用人单位带来损失的，用人单位可以要求劳动者赔偿。
【法律依据】：
《中华人民共和国劳动法》 第五十条 工资应当以货币形式按月支付给劳动者本人。不得克扣或者无故拖欠劳动者的工资。
