嫖娼追诉时效一般是多少时间

嫖娼的追溯期是六个月。嫖娼是属于违反治安管理的行为，而不是犯罪的行为，所以嫖娼适用的不是追诉时效，而是治安管理处罚法规定的时限。

前款规定的期限，从违法行为发生之日起计算；违法行为有连续或者继续状态的，从行为终了之日起计算。
