大病救助和临时救助的区别如下：
1、大病救助是大病全额救助或者部分救助报销比例在70%以上，大病临时救助补贴额度很小，大概只有百分之二十几；
2、大病医疗救助是指依托城镇居民（职工）基本医疗保险和新型农村合作医疗结算平台，能够为困难群众提供快捷服务。临时救助针对救助对象家庭生活中遇到的突发性、特殊性困难，重点对以下几种情况进行救助：
（1）对因病因灾造成生活困难的；
（2）因其它原因造成家庭生活困难的。
大病医疗救助是指依托城镇居民（职工）基本医疗保险和新型农村合作医疗结算平台，资金投入稳定、服务平台共用、信息资源共享、结算支付同步、管理运行规范、救助效果明显、能够为困难群众提供快捷服务、覆盖城乡科学规范的一种新型医疗救助制度。
救助对象如下：
1、农村五保对象；
2、城镇无劳动能力、无经济收入来源、无法定赡（抚）扶养人的人员（简称城镇“三无人员”）；
3、城乡居民最低生活保障对象；
4、享受民政部门定期定量生活补助的60年代精减退职职工；
5、享受民政部门定期抚恤补助的重点优抚对象；
6、总工会核定的特困职工；
7、城乡低收入家庭成员。
大病医疗救助以“资助参合参保、基本诊疗费用减免、特殊门诊定额救助、住院医疗救助、重病慈善救助”五位一体作为大病医疗救助方式，救助对象无需再实行个人申请、审核、审批，可直接纳入城乡医疗保险和医疗救助数据库，全面实行基本诊疗费减免、医疗保险补偿、医疗救助、个人自负“一单清”的同步结算服务。

《中华人民共和国社会保险法》
第二十八条 符合基本医疗保险药品目录、诊疗项目、医疗服务设施标准以及急诊、抢救的医疗费用，按照国家规定从基本医疗保险基金中支付。
