释义	所谓遗弃，是指在家庭中负有赡养，抚养和扶养义务的人，对需要赡养，抚养和扶养的人不履行应绝的义务。遗弃情节恶劣的，根据《刑法》第二百六十一条的划定，处五年以下有期徒刑，拘役或者管制。对遗弃家庭成员，受害人根据《婚姻法》第四十四条的划定提出哀求的，人民法院应当依法作出支付扶养费，抚养费，赡养费的判决。
