释义	一般的嫖娼只是违法了治安管理处罚法，给予拘留或者罚款。违反治安管理行为在6个月内没有被公安机关发现的，不再追究。法律依据：《中华人民共和国治安管理处罚法》第六十六条卖淫、嫖娼的，处十日以上十五日以下拘留，可以并处五千元以下罚款;情节较轻的，处五日以下拘留或者五百元以下罚款。在公共场所拉客招嫖的，处五日以下拘留或者五百元以下罚款。
