释义	法律分析：从轻处罚简称从轻，是在法定刑范围内对犯罪分子适用刑种较轻或刑期较短的刑罚。有法定从轻和酌定从轻两种，亦可分为一般从轻和特别从轻。一般从轻适用于所有犯罪，特别从轻由刑法特别规定，只适用于特定犯罪。法律依据：《中华人民共和国刑法》第六十二条犯罪分子具有本法规定的从重处罚、从轻处罚情节的，应当在法定刑的限度以内判处刑罚。
