释义	法律分析：不可以，当事人本身就有说明案件事实的义务，和证人存在不同。法律依据：《中华人民共和国刑事诉讼法》第六十二条凡是知道案件情况的人，都有作证的义务。生理上、精神上有缺陷或者年幼，不能辨别是非、不能正确表达的人，不能作证人。第六十三条人民法院、人民检察院和公安机关应当保障证人及其近亲属的安全。对证人及其近亲属进行威胁、侮辱、殴打或者打击报复，构成犯罪的，依法追究刑事责任；尚不够刑事处罚的，依法给予治安管理处罚。
