释义	死刑复核期，就是指被判处死刑或者死缓之后，等待复核结果的这段时间。只有最高人民法院复核通过后，才可以执行。死刑复核程序没有期限。死刑复核是一个特殊程序，复核需要多长时间，不仅《刑事诉讼法》没有明确规定，连最高人民法院司法解释也没有规定。死刑复核期限可长可短，视案件情况由最高人民法院决定。司法实践中，对重大敏感案件，最高人民法院复核时间很短，有的用不到一个月，而通常，死刑复核程序一般要两个月以上，个别的案件核准甚至需要数年。
