释义	管制是指对犯罪分子不实行关押，依法实行社区矫正，限制其一定自由的刑罚方法。法律将管制规定为主刑的一种，由人民法院判决，社区矫正组织执行。管制的期限为3个月以上2年以下，但是在数罪并罚时，可以延长到3年。法律依据《刑法》第三十八条，管制的期限，为三个月以上二年以下。判处管制，可以根据犯罪情况，同时禁止犯罪分子在执行期间从事特定活动，进入特定区域、场所，接触特定的人。对判处管制的犯罪分子，依法实行社区矫正。
