法律分析:
拘传不一定需要通知家属。公安机关根据案件情况对需要拘传的犯罪嫌疑人，或者经过传唤没有正当理由不到案的犯罪嫌疑人，可以拘传到其所在市、县内的指定地点进行讯问。
法律依据:
《中华人民共和国刑事诉讼法》 第一百一十九条 不需要逮捕、拘留的犯罪嫌疑人，可以传唤到犯罪嫌疑人所在市、县内的指定地点或者到他的住处进行讯问，但是应当出示人民检察院或者公安机关的证明文件。对在现场发现的犯罪嫌疑人，经出示工作证件，可以口头传唤，但应当在讯问笔录中注明。
