男方主动退婚的话能拿回的彩礼，具体如下：
1、双方未办理结婚登记手续的，一般应当全额返还；
2、双方办理结婚登记手续但未共同生活的，一般应当全额返还；
3、根据给付人的困难程度，酌定返还额度；
4、根据结婚时间长短确定返还额度。结婚时间应以实际共同生活时间为标准。实际共同生活一年内提出离婚的，彩礼可在半数以上酌定返还额度；实际共同生活两年内提出离婚的，可在半数以上的酌定返还额度。
返还彩礼条件，具体如下：
1、双方未办理结婚登记手续的；
2、双方办理结婚登记手续但确未共同生活的；
3、婚前给付并导致给付人生活困难的。
女方不退彩礼的条件，具体如下：
1、双方已经办理结婚登记手续并已经共同居住的；
2、双方未办理结婚登记手续但确实共同生活的；
3、婚前给付并未导致给付人生活困难的；
4、男女双方未同居生活，彩礼确实已经同于共同生活的。
5、在婚约存续期间，因婚约当事人死亡，一方请求对方返还彩礼的，不予支持。但在死亡前已经起诉的除外。
法律依据：《中华人民共和国民法典》第一千零四十二条
禁止包办、买卖婚姻和其他干涉婚姻自由的行为。禁止借婚姻索取财物。
禁止重婚。禁止有配偶者与他人同居。
禁止家庭暴力。禁止家庭成员间的虐待和遗弃。
