婚姻登记机构是什么意思？

婚姻登记机关是民政局的下属单位。我国的婚姻登记机关有两大类：1、经省级人民政府确定的具有办理内地居民之间婚姻登记职能的县级人民政府民政部门和乡镇人民政府。2、具有办理涉外、涉港澳台及华侨婚姻登记职能的省级人民政府民政部门或省级人民政府民政部门确定的机关。
法律依据：
《婚姻登记条例》 第三条 婚姻登记机关的婚姻登记员应当接受婚姻登记业务培训，经考核合格，方可从事婚姻登记工作。婚姻登记机关办理婚姻登记，除按收费标准向当事人收取工本费外，不得收取其他费用或者附加其他义务。
