释义	债权人，顾名思义，是指权利人，一般是借钱给别人，借钱后就拥有了债权，即让对方还钱的权利。还款期限到期后，债权人可以凭借享有的债权去起诉对方还钱。债务人，是指因为借了别人的钱，所以就有了还钱的义务，因此叫做债务人，一般是指伸手借钱的一方，还款期限届满后，债务人需要还钱给债权人。【本文关联的相关法律依据】根据《民法典》第387条规定：债权人在借贷、买卖等民事活动中，为保障实现其债权，需要担保的，可以依照本法和其他法律的规定设立担保物权。（《民法典》生效时间为2021年1月1日）
