释义	居住权，是用益物权的一种，指对他人所有的住房及其附属设施占有、使用的权利。根据我国相关规定，居住权无偿设立，自登记时设立，不得转让、继承。设立居住权的住宅不得出租，居住权期间届满或者居住权人死亡的，居住权消灭。这相当于在房屋所有权之外，新设立居住权。房子只要设立了居住权，即使没有房产证，也可长时间乃至终生居住。【本文关联的相关法律依据】《民法典》第三百六十八条，居住权无偿设立，但是当事人另有约定的除外。设立居住权的，应当向登记机构申请居住权登记。居住权自登记时设立。
