释义	宅基地是不会灭失的，在当事人是指地上的建筑物已经自然损坏，不能利用的前提下，当事人可以在一定的时限内重新提出申请使用该宅基地，可以在原址上建房；否则超过一定的时限的，该宅基地使用权是会由原集体收回的，但是当事人符合一户一宅政策，并且是当地的集体经济组织成员的，可以另行申请宅基地使用权。法律依据: 《中华人民共和国民法典》第三百六十四条宅基地因自然灾害等原因灭失的，宅基地使用权消灭。对失去宅基地的村民，应当重新分配宅基地。
