释义	法律分析：刑法中的从轻处罚是指在法定刑范围内对犯罪分子适用刑种较轻或刑期较短的刑罚。有法定从轻和酌定从轻两种，亦可分为一般从轻和特别从轻。一般从轻适用于所有犯罪，特别从轻由刑法特别规定，只适用于特定犯罪。法律依据《刑法》第十七条已满十四周岁不满十八周岁的人犯罪，应当从轻或者减轻处罚。《刑法》第十七条之一已满七十五周岁的人故意犯罪的，可以从轻或者减轻处罚;过失犯罪的，应当从轻或者减轻处罚。《刑法》第十九条又聋又哑的人或者盲人犯罪，可以从轻、减轻或者免除处罚。
