筹码支付货款是无效的。
筹码与我国现有的法律规定不相容，不能作为货款的支付方式。筹码在特定场合作为货币代用品用于赌博，基本功能是作为赌博计数的用具，本质上是一种赌博用具，其赌博用具的本质属性不会因地域的变化而改变。
法律依据：
根据《中华人民共和国民法典》 第六百六十二条 买受人应当按照约定的数额和支付方式支付价款。对价款的数额和支付方式没有约定或者约定不明确的，适用本法第五百一十条、第五百一十一条第二项和第五项的规定。
