2022身份证到期了需要到当地派出所办身份证。在办理到期换证时，可以在申领换证时上交旧证，也可以在新证办理完毕取证时上交旧证。居民准备将旧证留作纪念的，需由公安部门在市民监督下对旧证做剪角处理，确保视读、机读功能失效。无法提供原证件的属于丢失补领，在申领新证前需申报挂失，使旧证作废。
身份证到期换领的流程是什么：
1、提出申请，由申请人向居民身份证受理服务处提出申请；
2、受理申请，受理申请人所提交的申请材料，并进行初步审核；
3、审批签发，由县级公安机关审核、签发；
4、制作证件，将制证信息上传至制证中心制证；
5、发放证件，将制作好的居民身份证发给申请人，收缴旧身份证。

公民申请领取、换领、补领居民身份证，公安机关应当按照规定及时予以办理。公安机关应当自公民提交《居民身份证申领登记表》之日起六十日内发放居民身份证；交通不便的地区，办理时间可以适当延长，但延长的时间不得超过三十日。
公民在申请领取、换领、补领居民身份证期间，急需使用居民身份证的，可以申请领取临时居民身份证，公安机关应当按照规定及时予以办理。具体办法由国务院公安部门规定。
