释义	法律分析：当然属于违法行为。个人在宿舍里的东西属于其合法财产，擅自对财物进行没收属于对公民合法财产权的侵犯。法律依据：《中华人民共和国刑法》第二百七十条侵占罪，是指以非法占有为目的，将代为保管的他人财物、遗忘物或者埋藏物非法占为己有，数额较大，拒不交还的行为。本罪的主体为一般主体，凡年满16周岁具有刑事责任能力的自然人均可构成本罪。本罪在主观方面必须出于故意，即明知属于他人交与自己保管的财物、遗忘物或者埋藏物而仍非法占为己有。
