释义	我国尚无任何法律确立私家侦探的法律地位，因此私家侦探只是行使普通公民的合法知情权。私家侦探无法涉足刑事侦查活动，我国法律规定只有国家机关特定工作人员，才具有刑事案件侦查权。法律依据：《关于禁止开设“私人侦探所”性质的民间机构的通知》第二十八条禁止任何单位和个人开设各种形式的民事事务调查所、安全事务调查所等私人侦探所性质的民间机构，明令禁止的业务包括：受理民事、经济纠纷，追讨债务以及安全防范技术咨询，涉及个人隐私的调查等等。
