农民交养老保险的方法：
1、农民有工作单位的，由工作单位代为办理，农民只缴纳相应比例；
2、没有正式工作的农民，可以携带相关资料在户口所在地的村镇相关部门办理新农保手续，参加新农保的农村居民应当按规定缴纳养老保险费。
交养老保险的好处：
1、养老保险有利于保证劳动力的再生产。通过建立养老保险的制度，有利于劳动力群体的正常代际更替，老年人年老退休，新成长劳动力顺利就业，保证就业结构的合理化；
2、养老保险有利于社会的安全。养老保险为老年人提供了基本生活保障，使老年人老有所养。随着人口老龄化的到来，老年人口的比例越来越大，人数也越来越多，养老保险保障了老年劳动者的基本生活，等于保障了社会相当部分人口的基本生活。对于在职劳动者而言，参加养老保险，意味着对将来年老后的生活有了预期，免除了后顾之忧，从社会心态来说，人们多了些稳定、少了些浮躁，这有利于社会的稳定；
3、养老保险有利于促进经济的发展。养老保险制度多将公平与效率挂钩，尤其是部分积累和完全积累的养老金筹集模式。劳动者退休后领取养老金的数额，与其在职劳动期间的工资收入、缴费多少有直接的联系，这无疑能够产生一种缴励劳动者的职期间积极劳动，提高效率。

第二十条 国家建立和完善新型农村社会养老保险制度。
新型农村社会养老保险实行个人缴费、集体补助和政府补贴相结合。第二十一条 新型农村社会养老保险待遇由基础养老金和个人账户养老金组成。
参加新型农村社会养老保险的农村居民，符合国家规定条件的，按月领取新型农村社会养老保险待遇。
