释义	一般情况下，堂兄妹是不可以继承遗产的，堂兄妹不属于法定继承人。但是如果被继承人立有遗嘱，指定堂兄妹继承遗产的除外。遗嘱继承优先于法定继承，因此即使堂兄妹没有法定继承权，但是有遗嘱的情况下，仍然可以继承遗产。法律依据《民法典》第一千一百二十三条，继承开始后，按照法定继承办理；有遗嘱的，按照遗嘱继承或者遗赠办理；有遗赠扶养协议的，按照协议办理。
