释义	保险金是指当发生保险事故时，由保险人根据合同约定给付的金额。保险金有两种情况：即指定了受益人的保险金和未指定受益人的保险金。二者可否继承情况不同。投保人在保险单中指定了受益人的，一旦保险事故发生，被指定的受益人将取得保险赔偿金，该保险金赔偿是受益人的合法财产，不能由投保人的继承人继承。投保人在保险合同中未明确指定受益人，在发生保险事故后理赔所得的保险金就成为投保人的遗产，可依法由投保人的继承人继承。
