释义	放弃继承权是有时间规定的，继承人应在遗产处理前作出表明放弃继承，若在遗产处理前没有表示的，视为接受继承。所谓遗产处理前指的是被继承人死亡后到遗产分割前的这段时间。若在遗产分割开始后继承人反悔或表明要放弃继承权的，法律明文规定该行为无效。法律依据《民法典》第一千一百二十四条，继承开始后，继承人放弃继承的，应当在遗产处理前，以书面形式作出放弃继承的表示；没有表示的，视为接受继承。受遗赠人应当在知道受遗赠后六十日内，作出接受或者放弃受遗赠的表示；到期没有表示的，视为放弃受遗赠。
