城市长期每天限号的时间，一般是从早上七点到晚上八点。限号时间没有统一规定，各个城市会根据本地的实际情况确定限号时间。例如天津，工作日（一般指周一至周五，法定节假日不算工作日）为7时至19时，限行范围：外环线内（不含外环线），外地车要同时遵守两种限行规则：早晚高峰+尾号限行。
一、早晚高峰：工作日7时至9时和16时至19时，禁止外埠牌照机动车（北京牌照小型、微型载客汽车除外）在外环线（不含）以内道路通行。工作日（一般指周一至周五，法定节假日不算工作日）。举个例子：你的车牌尾号是当天限行的号码，你在7时至19时禁止在外环线以内道路通行。如果尾号不是当天限行号码，限行时间仅仅是工作日的早晚高峰时期，即7时至9时和16时至19时，其他时间都可以进入。
二、尾号限行：2018年7月9日至2018年10月7日：星期一至星期五限行机动车号牌尾号分别为：星期一：3和8。星期二：4和9。星期三：5和0。星期四：1和6。星期五：2和7。（机动车号牌尾号为英文字母的按0号管理）。
一、北京限号规定是什么
限行的机动车车牌尾号（含临时号牌）分为五组，每13周轮换一次限行日。具体如下：星期一至星期五限行机动车车牌尾号分别为：3和
8、4和
9、5和
0、1和
6、2和7（机动车车牌尾号为英文字母的按0号管理）。
二、限号开车要怎么处罚
限牌开车的处罚，对于确属忘记限行日，无意开车出门的车辆，在接受了一次处罚后，在3个小时内，司机可将车驶出限行区域、开到最近的停车场或返回出发地，而不用担心被再次处罚。但若一天内连续出行，则将会被连续处罚。
