释义	法律规定父母抚养子女一般到18周岁为止。16周岁以上不满18周岁，以其劳动收入为主要生活来源，父母可停止给付抚育费。父母对孩子负有抚养义务,在孩子不具备独自生活能力前，父母都需要给予孩子生活费、教育费、医药费以及其他生活必要费用。【法律依据】《最高人民法院关于适用〈中华人民共和国民法典〉婚姻家庭编的解释（一）》第五十三条，抚养费的给付期限，一般至子女十八周岁为止。十六周岁以上不满十八周岁，以其劳动收入为主要生活来源，并能维持当地一般生活水平的，父母可以停止给付抚养费。
