法律分析:
不可以，过期的身份证不属于有效证件。
法律依据:
《交通运输部关于修改〈道路旅客运输及客运站管理规定〉的决定》 四十七条 实行实名制管理的客运班线及客运站，旅客应当出示有效客票和本人有效身份证件原件，配合工作人员查验。旅客乘车前，客运站经营者应当对车票记载的身份信息与旅客及其有效身份证件原件（以下简称票、人、证）进行一致性核对并记录有关信息。
对拒不提供本人有效身份证件原件或者票、人、证不一致的，不得允许其乘车。
