释义	法律分析：用信件的方法进行查询简称函询。法律依据：《中国共产党纪律检查机关监督执纪工作规则》第二十九条纪检监察机关进行函询应当以办公厅（室）名义发函给被反映人，并抄送其所在党委（党组）和派驻纪检监察组主要负责人。被函询人应当在收到函件后15个工作日内写出说明材料，由其所在党委（党组）主要负责人签署意见后发函回复。被函询人为党委（党组）主要负责人的，或者被函询人所作说明涉及党委（党组）主要负责人的，应当直接发函回复纪检监察机关。
