释义	法律分析: 做保安并不需要扣押身份证的，无论是我国的任何工作单位均不可以任何理由扣押员工的财物（包括身份证件），扣押员工的财物属于违法行为。法律依据: 《中华人民共和国劳动合同法》第九条用人单位招用劳动者，不得扣押劳动者的居民身份证和其他证件，不得要求劳动者提供担保或者以其他名义向劳动者收取财物。身份证件应属员工的个人财产，该单位予以扣押的身份证件应该当依法返还给该员工，经过劳动行政部门责令后依旧不退换的，劳动行政部门可以依照相关的法律规定给予该单位处罚。
