工会会员没有正当理由连续六个月不交纳会费，经教育拒不改正，应当视为自动退会。对不执行工会决议、违反工会章程的会员，给予批评教育。对严重违法犯罪并受到刑事处分的会员，开除会籍。开除会员会籍，须经工会小组讨论，提出意见，由工会基层委员会决定，报上一级工会备案。《中国工会章程》第六条
会员有退会自由。会员退会由本人向工会小组提出，由工会基层委员会宣布其退会并收回会员证。
