释义	法律分析：法院基于法律及被告人的特殊身份或某种情况,指定律师或其他公民为被告人进行辩护的制度。在我国,是由人民法院指定的。通常被指定的辩护人由律师承担。这种辩护人称为指定辩护人。法律依据：《最高人民法院关于《中华人民共和国刑事诉讼法》若干问题的解释》第三十六条被告人没有委托辩护人而具有下列情形之一的，人民法院应当为其指定辩护人：（一）盲、聋、哑人或者限制行为能力的人；（二）开庭审理时不满十八周岁的未成年人；（三）可能被判处死刑的人。
