释义	根据现行法律规定，因国际货物买卖合同引起的争议，当事人请求人民法院保护其民事权利的诉讼时效期间为四年。一般情况下，诉讼时效期间为三年，但是由于国际货物买卖的周期相较于国内货物买卖的周期较长，证据收集以及起诉准备工作繁琐，因此法律对国际贸易合同的诉讼时效与仲裁时效都做了特殊规定。法律依据：《中华人民共和国民法典》第五百九十四条国际贸易合同诉讼时效和仲裁时效，因国际货物买卖合同和技术进出口合同争议提起诉讼或者申请仲裁的时效期间为四年。
