释义	法律分析：身份证到期不能继续使用。身份证一旦过了有效期，就被视为作废。银行、证券等多个行业都将过了有效期的身份证作为无效证件来处理，而且乘坐飞机、火车也不能使用失效的身份证等。首次申领居民身份证，申领人本人携带户口簿前往户口所在地派出所或办证中心办理，但延长的时间不得超过三十日。法律依据：《中华人民共和国居民身份证法》第八条居民身份证有效期满或者登记内容有变更、更正或者证件严重损坏不能辩认时，应当按照规定申报换领新证；丢失证件的，应当申报补领。
