释义	律师解答：担保人不可以只还本金。担保人承担的责任和债务人是一样的，债务人所欠的债务如果约定了偿还利息的话；在债务人不能履行债务偿还责任的情况下，连带责任人也需要承担同等的责任，利息和本金一并偿还，而不是只偿还本金，担保人不会因身份不同而履行不同的责任。【法律依据】：《中华人民共和国民法典》第六百九十九条同一债务有两个以上保证人的，保证人应当按照保证合同约定的保证份额，承担保证责任;没有约定保证份额的，债权人可以请求任何一个保证人在其保证范围内承担保证麦任。
