释义	网络聊天记录可以作为嫖娼证据，但只能作为间接证据。之所以不能作为直接证据，是因为网络聊天记录只能证明嫖娼当事人的行为动机，而并非直接发生的嫖娼行为。法律依据：《中华人民共和国治安管理处罚法》第六十六条卖淫、嫖娼的，处10日以上15日以下拘留，可以并处5000元以下罚款；情节较轻的，处5日以下拘留或者500元以下罚款。在公共场所拉客招嫖的，处5日以下拘留或者500元以下罚款。
