法律分析：根据《劳动合同法》的规定，员工在试用期间的工资不得低于本单位相同岗位最低档工资或者劳动合同约定工资的百分之八十,不得低于用人单位所在地的最低工资标准。?如果低于当地最低工资标准,用人单位的做法就是违法。
法律依据：《中华人民共和国劳动合同法》第二十条
劳动者在试用期的工资不得低于本单位相同岗位最低档工资或者劳动合同约定工资的百分之八十，并不得低于用人单位所在地的最低工资标准。员工无过失的情况下用人单位不得解除劳动合同。用人单位在试用期解除劳动合同的，应当向劳动者说明理由。
